I complete my webpage today and decided to see if there were any other
"Bromfields" on line and located your site. My family originated from St.
Elizabeth. My grandfather was Lawerence Bromfield and was farmer and owner of "lands
and cows." He had approxi ately 9 children. My father is in Hotel and Transportation
in Jamaica. Perhaps there is some connection. The information you gathered is very
interesting. EMB |

Well Mike, I finally made on to the web site. It's fabulous! It makes me pretty proud to
be a part of our Bromfield clan. My research paper on the Bromfield family a few years
back would have been helped immeasurably by being able to connect with some of your
visitors. Scrolling through the guest list was amazing - seeing so many familiar names and
connections. In particular, I was thrilled to come across one visitor who intimated that
in her lifetime, our great Aunt Irene Bromfield might have been responsible for delivering
more than half of St. Elizabeth's newborns. My mum Amy Bromfield has been extolling her
Aunt Irene's role as midwife and RN for that parish as a great role model to young women
such as herself in Jamaica in the mid 1920's. As Women's Studies is my undergraduate
discipline, and Jamaica my homeland, I would especially like to hear from (or about) the
issues, concerns, challenges, oral traditions, etc. that have influenced the many
generations of women in the Bromfield family. Keep up the good work Mike. I'll definitely
come back to visit again. |

attempting the maternal side, "The Harris Family" of Brown's Town. My maternal
grandfather was Randolph Harris. Finding a 'blind alley' so far! Re my visit to your

Parchment - long ago friends of my husband and myself? Have enjoyed the visit, will check

until his death at 104 in April, 1980. I came across your web site while trying to obtain

Unfortunately couldn't access other websit with maps etc. However, it was so interesting
reading the comments in your guestbook. Bromfield isn't a common Jamaican name but it is a
well know St. Elizabeth name. Here at Munro College I have come across so many Bromfields
and even met people who have been delivered by my grandfather's sister - Irene Bromfield -
a midwife who lived in Newmarket for some time and seems to have delivered half of St.
Elizabeth. One of the reasons for moving to St. Bess had been to do family research but
it's no fun doing it alone. Hoping there are other Bromfields willing to join the
adventure. |

Great idea to have this website. Why not set up as a business starting with the Jamaica
web site, and offer to the public for a fee, a vacation tour to places they have
alwayswanted to visit but at this time can't afford the cost, or haven't the time, but can
do this instantly and have f n while on their work/office lunch-brak, visit an exotic
vacation spot like Jamaica's: Dunns River Falls, view the scenery from a raft ride on the
Rio Grande River starting at Priestman's River, take some (virtual) snapshots of the view
from: atop Blue M untain Peak, around Strawberry Hill, from the road atop the hill looking
down and out at the sea at the beautiful view of Rio Bueno harbour. Fantastic! Roy

Your web page is great! I live in Salt Lake & have being doing research in St.
Eliz.(where my mom was from)for #of years. Have been making a database of names, including
Bromfield. My family name is Elliott and includes Simpson, Sinclair, Neil, Ebanks, Dyer,
etc. Have been to Jamaica twice to do research. Maybe we can compare notes. Robin Downie |

Joyce Falink sent me an e-mail with your website address which I finally visited this a.m.
I love it. Lot's of info. I'm a beginning genealogist. I was born in Jamaica, my family
(mother, grandmother, assorted uncles, cousins, etc) still live there. Had a ways been
interested in tracing my roots but it became a slight 'obsession' over the last year or
so. Maybe it's age?! Who knows? Anyway, will be going to Ja this July. My grandmother's
health is precarious at best and I want to get as much out of her as ossible. Good luck
with your research. Will keep you posted on mine. Regards. Marcia Mayne |

After your contact regarding my ship pages, I thought I'd stop by and see your site.
Nicely done! Lived and worked here and there around San Diego most of my life, but living
in sunnier Phoenix at present. Miss the beaches, salt air, and sea breezes!! Best wishes.

I just visited your website and just had to make a few comments. I LOVE your website and
music! I briefly browsed through your pages. It was easy, informative and a real pleasure.
I noted you work in the cardiac ward at the Naval hospital. Let me tel you a sad story.
After my mother died of a stroke/heart attack in 1993, my father was a lost sole. I got
him interested in recording his life's story and his WWII experience in the Navy. He
wondered about his LCI shipmates and what had happened to them. I got on the ne , found a
Navy website and posted queries. We found 18 of the original 23 crew members. Dad put
together a mini-reunion for the remaining crew members to see each other after 50 years.
It was set for July 23, 24, 25, 1996. Dad entered the hospital on uly 21 for double
by-pass surgery. He had surgery on July 22 and never came out of the hospital. He never
saw his crew mates of the LCI #704 after 50 years. I still stay in touch with several crew
members and the captain of the ship. We correspond and send tapes, etc. I would like to
know where you found the beautiful music for your website. Carole Weisbrodt Lannom |

This is a test. Yes I am very interested in Jamaica Genealogy especially as it relates to
the parish of St. Elizabeth in the late 1800's. Do you know how I can search for a
particular resident of that part of the country in the year mentioned? Please e ail
response. |
